Clear Braces (ClearCorrect)

Orthodontic conditions not only affect the aesthetics of your smile, but they can also lead to oral health complications such as tooth decay and gum disease. Issues such as crowding, overbites, and other misalignments can make it more difficult to properly clean your teeth. For many years, traditional braces were the only way to fix these orthodontic conditions. At New Heights Dental & Braces, we offer a new alternative, called ClearCorrect, which fixes moderate to minor orthodontic conditions through the use of plastic, clear aligner trays.

How Does ClearCorrect Work?

ClearCorrect treatment involves a series of aligner trays, each one gradually moving your teeth to a correct position. There are typically four phases of aligner therapy. Each phase requires a new set of aligners that are worn at three-week intervals. After each aligner set, there should be a noticeable difference with your teeth. We will also schedule regular checkups, so we can evaluate your progress and make sure there are no issues.

ClearCorrect aligners should be worn nearly all the time if you want your treatment to be as effective as possible. The only time you should remove your aligner is when you are eating, drinking, or brushing and flossing your teeth. If you wear your aligners as suggested, you can significantly reduce your treatment time. In general, treatment time can range from one to two years.

Once treatment is complete, you should have teeth that are in the correct position, if not very close to the correct position. To prevent your teeth from shifting back out of position, we will recommend a retainer. In most cases, the retainer will be a discrete, clear plastic tray that only needs to be worn at night.

Who Will Benefit From ClearCorrect?

ClearCorrect may not be right for everyone. To determine if ClearCorrect is right for you, Dr. Daniel A. Riley will establish a record of your teeth and gum tissues using impressions, photographs, and radiographs. Once we have determined that you are a suitable candidate for ClearCorrect, we will send this information to the ClearCorrect laboratory. There, they will use this information to create a precise 3-D model of your teeth to map out a complete treatment plan.

We offer ClearCorrect to both teenagers and adults. We find adults prefer ClearCorrect over traditional braces because it is much more discrete and minimally invasive. The clear aligner trays are virtually invisible. Many people may not even notice you are undergoing treatment! They are also resistant to clouding due to wear.

When compared to traditional braces, ClearCorrect provides irritation-free treatment with minimal discomfort. Traditional braces consist of metal wires and brackets that can irritate your cheeks and gums. When tightened, traditional braces can cause major discomfort with your teeth as they move.

ClearCorrect also makes it easier to perform your oral hygiene routine, as well as eating and speaking. Traditional braces are non-removable, which require special dietary precautions and cleaning methods.

ClearCorrect aligners are best used for patients with crowded or spaced teeth, overbites, underbites, and crooked (or rotated) teeth. For more complicated dental cases, we may suggest another form of orthodontic treatment.
